ITINERARY
Nairobi – Aberdare National Park – Mount Kenya National Park – Maasai Mara National Park - Zanzibar Island
Day 1- Nairobi -
On arrival, you will be taken to Fairmont The Norfolk for the night. A landmark in the city, the spacious and well-appointed rooms range from the simplicity of the original 1937 wing, to the contemporary elegance of the Deluxe Acacia wing. The rest of the day is free.
Day 2 - Aberdare National Park - Morning flight to Nanyuki from where you will be driven to the Aberdare Country Club for lunch and a nature walk before going to The Ark overlooking a waterhole and salt lick where the ‘Big Five’ gather, It comprises three decks from which balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing throughout the evening. Dinner and overnight at the Fairmont Ark.
Day 3 – Mount Kenya National Park - After breakfast drive to the world famous Mt. Kenya Safari Club The club which has hosted such diverse luminaries as Winston Churchill and Clark Gable sprawls along the equator on the slopes of Mt Kenya. The luxurious and colonial-style club offers glorious views of the mountain and forest, delightful gardens and a 9-hole golf course. Afternoon at leisure with optional excursions which include riding, golf, fishing, along with bird and nature walks. Meals and overnight at Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari Club.
Day 4 - Mount Kenya National Park - After breakfast drive to The Sweetwater’s Wildlife Sanctuary for a morning game drive. The reserve is home to the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya. Meals and overnight at Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari Club.
Day 5 - Masai Mara National Game reserve - After breakfast, transfer to Nanyuki for your scenic flight over the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve which offers wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region in Kenya where you may see animals in the same numbers that existed a century ago. After lunch enjoy afternoon game viewing in luxurious open roof 4x4 vehicles. Meals and overnight at Fairmont Mara Safari Club.
Day 6 - Masai Mara National Game reserve - Day spent game viewing with morning and afternoon game drives. This is the area where the autumn annual migration takes place when millions of zebras, wildebeest and gazelle cross the plains and you have the best chance of seeing the “Big five”. Meals and overnight at Fairmont Mara Safari Club.
Day 7 - Masai Mara National Game reserve - An early morning game drive or a balloon safari (supplement of £295). Watch game from a marvellous vantage point, during a 45 minute hot air balloon ride, floating over the Mara plains, landing in time for a delicious picnic breakfast. Enjoy a game drive back to the camp and the rest of the day at leisure, swimming or lazing outside your tent, watching the hippos in the Mara River. Meals and overnight at Fairmont Mara Safari Club.
Day 8 - Zanzibar Island - After breakfast fly to Nairobi and on to Zanzibar, where you will be transferred to the Fairmont Zanzibar for 3 nights’ relaxing by the beach or explorating the spice island.
Day 11 - Zanzibar Island - Transfer to Zanzibar Kisauni International Airport for your homeward flights.
